Gladys O. Jones

Gladys Jones, 86, of Carolina Road transitioned Sunday, February 10, 2019 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Annie Mae Jones and Clifton Jones. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon King, son Frank Jones; and three sisters, Hattie Jones, Eleanora Jones, and Valerie Joan Merricks. She was employed with Butter Dish and Planters and was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church and Missouri Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Joyce Jones, Carmen Jones, Janice Parker(Clayton), Tracy Wiggins(Raymond) all of Suffolk, Virginia and Lisa Flood (Robert) of Smithfield, Virginia; four sons, Morris Jones, Jerry King, Mark Jones(Judy), and Gregory Smith(Karen) all of Suffolk; three sisters, Annie D. Knight, Suffolk, Irene Hall (Clinton) of Suffolk, and Helen Brown of Portsmouth, Virginia; brother, Clifton Jones (Shirley) of Suffolk; 19 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Friday, February 15, 2019 at Balm Church East Campus, 525 East Washington Street, Suffolk, Virginia. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
