Geraldine Hampton-Jones

Geraldine Hampton-Jones, 69, of Birch Lane, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Northern Cardinal Rehabilitation and Nursing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Hampton and Flora Mae Hampton, grandson, Montrel Savon Jones, brother, Melvin Foster and her husband, Amos Lee Jones. Geraldine Jones (Chick Chick) was a graduate of Pembroke High School in Hampton, VA Class of 1971. She met Amos around late 1972 to early 1973. In 1975 they had a son and 1977 they married each other. Geraldine worked at Newport News Shipyard 27 years as a welder from 1973 to 2000. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Clarence Jones known as boot and his wife Nancy of Richmond, VA; brother, Dianell Eley of Portsmouth; sister-in-law, Laura Copeland of Suffolk; step-grandchildren, Arviet Nash (Tyree) of Richmond, O'Harold Staton II of Richmond; one step-great grandchild, O'Harold Staton III of Richmond; one aunt, Sally (Aunt Meega) Brock of Suffolk; numerous cousins, nephews, niece and friends. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
