Gerald Lee Jones

Gerald Lee Jones, 52, of Davenport, IA transitioned Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He was the son of Martha Ann Jones-Greene and Melvin Lewis Jones, Sr. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, General Lee Jones and Mary Francis Jones, maternal grandparents, Naomi Minggia and Grady Minggia. He retired from ManTech International in 2012. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Martha Ann Jones-Greene (Kevin); father, Melvin Lewis Jones, Sr.,; daughter, Cetera Jones of Atlanta, GA; four sons, Gerrell Jones and Christopher Jones of Atlanta, GA, Demaris Jones and Joshua Jones both of Chicago, IL; sister, Cindy Wingo (Reginald) of Stafford, VA; four brothers, Melvin Lewis Jones, Jr., (Laticia) of Suffolk, Terry Nevin Jones of Edenton, NC, Eric Bradshaw of Franklin, VA and Javon Jones of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Aleija Jones, Christopher Jones, Jr., Journey Mims, Jiah Jones, Christian Jones, Antonio Jones and Jacoby Mims; special friend, Jackie Edwards; a host of aunts, uncles , nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation with family will be held 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held noon, Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Piney Grove Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in the Crocker Funeral Home Section of Carver Memorial Cemetery.
