George Elliott Manley, 58, of Wilson Street, Suffolk, Virginia, transitioned on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
George was born to the late Alex Manley, Jr. and Irene Lawrence Manley. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose presence brought joy and laughter to those around him.
A proud graduate of Forest Glen High School, Class of 1986, George was a man who knew how to enjoy life. He loved dancing to different styles of music, sharing his smile, having a good time, and, most importantly, being around people. His love for others and his joyful spirit made him a memorable presence among family and friends. George had a way of embracing life's moments and creating memories that will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
George was preceded in death by his father, Alex Manley, Jr.; mother, Irene Lawrence Manley; his sisters, Angela Manley and Jacqueline Manley; his maternal grandparents, George Lawrence and Martha Lawrence; his paternal grandparents, Alex Manley, Sr. and Susie Manley; and his nephews, Jaquan Yulee and Terrence Hoggard, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Demetrius Ward Manley; his children, George Thomas, Geormon D. Manley, and Danaesha M. Ward; his stepchild, Derriana L. Jones; and his beloved grandchildren, George J. Thomas, Zakkai Ward, and Kacen Wilson.
He also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Shretta Luton (John), Sharon Conway (Eric), Leslie Manley, Meredith Manley, and Donnika Norman; his lifetime friend, Neil McKoy; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Though George's earthly journey has ended, the love he shared, the smiles he brought, and the memories he created will live on through all who knew him. His laughter, his love of dancing, and his joyful spirit will never be forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held noon, Thursday, October 22, 2026 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. The family has entrusted Crocker Funeral Home with services rendered with dignity, compassion, and care.
