George "Baby George" Holland, Sr.

January 11, 1941 — March 31, 2021

George "Baby George" Holland, Sr. born January 11, 1941 was a lifelong resident of Suffolk, Virginia and was called home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2021. Transitioned at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital at the age of 80. Baby George served six years in the Marine Corps Reserve. Thereafter, he was employed with the Naval Supply Center in Norfolk, Virginia as a dedicated Warehouse Supply Worker and retired after 16 years. He was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church in Windsor, Virginia under Reverend Wendell M. Waller. He was a member of Fat Boy and The Mighty Pearly Gates as a Guitarist. He was predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Louise (Dowdy) Holland. Brother James "Honey Bunch" Holland and Granddaughter Diane Holland. He is survived by his devoted wife, Doris E. Holland; two daughters, Ethel "Bee" Holland and Dorothy "Diane" Holland. One son, George Holland, Jr; ten grandchildren, Shante' Holland, Sam "Trashawn" Godwin, Daniel and Derrick Holland, Jamar Smith, Jasmine, Meeka and George Holland, Shaman and Jalisa Morgan; along with a host of great grandchildren, family and friends. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April, 13, 2021 in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Wendell Waller will deliver the message of comfort.
