Fred Douglas Knight

Fred Douglas Knight, 66, of Kilby Avenue transitioned Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at his residence. He was born May 3, 1964 in Nansemond County, Virginia to the late Edith Copeland Knight and Ernest Knight, Sr. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest Knight, Jr, Lloyd Knight and Vernon Knight, Sr. and sister-in-law, Gina Knight. He retired from Roland Vault Company after 50 years of faithful and dedicated service. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dora Steward Knight of Suffolk, VA; sons, Leon Jenkins (Nita) of Suffolk, VA and Clayton Jenkins of Suffolk, VA; step-son, Jermaine Steward, Sr. (Joylin) of Suffolk, VA; sister, Brenda Knight Turner of Windsor, VA; two brothers, Nathaniel Knight (Yvonne) of Suffolk, VA and Albert (Gene) Knight of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Dijon Jenkins, Jermaine Steward, Jr, Dontarius Boone and Shequandra Boone; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rosa Steward Bailey, Mary Jane Knight and Hazel Knight; brother-in-law, Jerry Steward; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery, 1421 Kings Fork Road, Suffolk, VA. Bishop Madison Copeland will deliver the message of comfort.
