On Sunday, February 25, 2024, the Lord in his infinite wisdom called his son, Frankie Roosevelt Goings from earthly labor to Heavenly reward.
Frankie was last son of eight children born to the late Essie Holland and Robert C. Goings on September 26, 1951 in Franklin, Virginia. He was educated in the Isle of Wight County Public School system, graduating from Windsor High School.
Frankie was a farmer, who dedicated his entire life to working and cultivating the fields. Driving tractors and being on the land was where he felt most at home and was the area he skillfully demonstrated his love for the art of farming. Fishing was also one of Frankie’s passions. He would spend countless hours on the water, soaking up the sun, and enjoying his catch of the day.
Frankie was a member of Laurel Hill United Church of Christ and faithfully attended services until his health no longer allowed him to be present.
In addition to his parents, Frankie was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Goings, and two brothers, John and Robert, Jr.
Frankie leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Emonia Wilson of Portsmouth, VA; four sisters, Janice Williams of Carrsville, VA, Erma Wilson of Smithfield, VA, Ernestine Whitfield (Donald) of Chesapeake, VA, and Essie Lee Lawrence of Franklin, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
