Frances A. Pittman

Frances A. Pittman precious angels, slipped away quietly and entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 15, 2025. She was born on May 23, 1933 in Nansemond County, Virginia to the late Ernest and Martha Ricks.

Frances was faithful and dedicated employee of Planters Peanut Company where she retired after 40 years of loyal service.

Religion and Christianity were deeply important to Frances as she exercised her faith and devotion as a member of Covenant Community Church in Suffolk. Frances would always help anyone in need.

The Thanksgiving season was essentially her favorite time of the year, where she loved to make all of her favorite recipes and watch her family enjoy the tasty meals she prepared.

Frances was married to her loving husband Elijah who preceded her in death. They spent many precious years together.

Frances leaves to cherish her memories a son, Michael A. Pittman, Sr. (Jackie); daughter, Kaye Walton; sister, Marion A. Briggs; grandson, Michael Pittman, Jr. (Barbara); granddaughter, Kayla Barham (Torrence); great-great granddaughter, Janiyah Barham; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 A celebration of life will be held noon, Monday, August 25, 2025 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
