Flossie "Sis baby" Mae Picott-Howell

Flossie "sis baby" Mae Picott-Howell, 87, of White Marsh Road, Suffolk, transitioned Friday, August 3, 2018 at Concordia Transitional Care and Rehabilitation. She was the daughter of the late Anna Harris Picott and William Picott. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Al Smith Howell, Sr., two daughters, Linda Warathan and Wanda Adedapo; three sisters, Ethel L. Picott, Queen Esther Baker, and Anna Doris Brown; four brothers, Wallace Picott, Charlie Picott, Ernest Soloman Picott, and Elmo Louis Ali. Flossie worked at Louise Obici Hospital and retired in 1995 after more than 30 years of faithful and dedicated service. She was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church where she served on the Ushers Board, Deaconess Ministry, Missionary Ministry and Pastors Aide Committee. She leaves to cherish her memory six daughters, Jacquline Howell-Maddrey, Sandra Howell-Dunson, Katrina Howell, Lora Copeland, Gloria J.Smith, and Monica Howell; two sons, Al Smith Howell, Jr. (Michelle) and Julius Howell (Jemeka); 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, William Howell and Alton Baker; five sisters-in-law, Pat Ali, Betty Picott, Joan Harris, and Mary Edith Powell, Shirley Howell; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A visitation with family will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Pulaski Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Picott Family Cemetery.
