On March 22, 2023 angels came to visit in Chippenham Hospital Richmond, VA to take our beloved Faye Vizelle Harris, home to be with our Heavenly Father. Faye was born February 20, 1960 in Nansemond County Suffolk, VA. She was the 8th child born to the late Lewis Raiford Harris, Sr. and Thelma ArieBell Williams Harris. She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest brother Lewis Raiford Harris, Jr. She leaves a legacy of love to: one son Montel Lewis Williams, one brother Thomas Irvin Harris (Mary Edith) of Suffolk, VA; five sisters: Evelyn Bernice Harris and Priscilla Earline Harris of Suffolk, VA; Flora Elaine Harris of Chesapeake, VA; Vivian Laverne Harris of Brookhaven, PA, and Hazel Linette Boone (Calvin) of Richmond, VA; twins John Linwood Holland (Cynthia) of Columbia, MD and Georgia Johnna Franklin of Newport News, VA whom her parents raised as their own; eleven nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Sandra Knight was her best friend and neighbor for over 20 years. Other long-time friends were Jean Carolina, Robinette, Mabel, and Dwayne. Faye was a member of First Baptist Church, Suffolk, VA where she served as church clerk/ secretary until she moved to Richmond, VA. She was in the 4-H and Friendship Clubs of Nansemond County. She graduated from Forest Glen High School in Suffolk, VA and received an Associate Degree from National Business College in Roanoke, VA. She loved arts and crafts with a specialty in bead work, crossword puzzles, and word search. Faye worked in Richmond, VA until her parents became ill and needed assistance. At that time, she returned home to care for them, which was a tremendous blessing for them and the family. After they both passed, she moved back to Richmond in 2011. Though disabled for a number of years, Faye continued to enjoy kind and friendly conversation with anyone she met. A celebration of life will be held 12 Noon, Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 6100 Holy Neck Road, Suffolk, VA 23437. Ms. Harris will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
