Evelyn Mary Johnson-Allen
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain for the former things are passed away"

On April 3, 2026 God called Mrs. Evelyn Mary Johnson Allen home from labor to reward. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and good friend.
Evelyn was born on July 1, 1960 to the late Theodore and Evelyn Johnson, and the granddaughter of Alfred and Lena Mae Johnson (whom raised her). Evelyn was educated in the Suffolk Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and exemplified her Christian devotion by being a member of St. Mary's Church of God In Christ. At St. Mary's, she was a member of the usher ministry and served faithfully until her health permitted her unable.
Evelyn was predeceased in death by her parents, Theodore and Evelyn Johnson; grandparents, Alfred and Lena Mae Johnson, and Mary Elizabeth Denson and Theodore Johnson, Jr; a sister, Dorothy Johnson; three brothers, Robert Lee, Theodore Johnson, and Leroy Johnson; two aunts, Lottie Fenwick-Smallwood and Elizabeth Guess; three uncles, Cleophus Norfleet, Elmer Johnson, and JC Johnson.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Thomas Allen; two children, Cynthia Johnson and Thomas Allen, Jr; two grandchildren, Tayshawn Newby and Ramond Johnson; one sister, Maxine (George); two brother, Willie Johnson and Curtis Johnson (Patricia); two aunts, Lillian Myrick and Laura Goodwin.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at St. Mary's Church of God in Christ. She will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with compassion, dignity, and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
