Evelyn Deloris Griffin

Evelyn Deloris Griffin, 82, of Hillpoint Blvd, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Accordius Health at Nansemond Pointe. She was the daughter of the late Gracie Octavia West Bright and Arthur Bright. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Howard Griffin, daughter, Kathy Bivins, three sisters, Catherine Bright, Ida Bright, Mottie Bright; three brothers, John Henry Bright, Joseph Bright, and Phillip Bright. She attended East Suffolk School and worked at Autumn Care Nursing Home and was a hairdresser. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Johnnie Howard Griffin, Jr. of Suffolk, VA; daughter, Angelia Griffin; two sisters, Elsie Ivey of Brooklyn, NY and Lucille Hughes of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Veldon Derron Griffin, DeShawn LaTre Griffin, Terrell Griffin, and Carlisha Bivins; devoted nieces, Mary Artis, Marie McCrea, and Veronica Hughes; a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Elder Gerald Goodman will deliver the message of comfort.
