Evelena S. Britt, 84, of Carolina Road, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Saturday, September 5, 2020 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Cfroney Sawyer and Lynwood Sawyer. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Britt. She was a member of Capernaum SDA Adventist Church. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Sonia S. Britt; son, Larry D. Sawyer (Loray Parker); five sisters, Florine Skeeter of Suffolk, VA, Laura Ann White of Ossining, NY, Jeanett Hopson of Suffolk, VA, Mary Lee Twine of Suffolk, VA, Geraldine Fulgham (James Lee Fulgham); brother, James E. Sawyer; sister-in-law, Weriely M. Booth; brother-in-law, Jesse L. Ponder; nieces, nephews, and friends. Viewing will be held 1-7 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe chapel.
