Eunice Marie Lawrence Spratley

Eunice Marie “Lue” Lawrence Spratley passed away peacefully at her home on Nancy Drive on August 28, 2025 at the age of 66. 

A cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, Lue’s vibrant spirit and devotion to her family leaves an enduring mark on all who knew her. She was filled with love and shared moments especially around the family table or out in the yard during family functions and cookouts. Family was at the very heart of her life and she found great joy in the success of her children.

Born April 7, 1959 in Suffolk, Lue was the beloved daughter of the late Eunice Lawrence and William Johnson Lawrence Sr. both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her eldest brother William Lawrence Jr. She grew up in a close-knit household with her siblings and was a proud graduate of John Yeates High School where she formed many lifelong friendships and memories. 

She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth and joyful family gatherings that will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind to cherish her memories Fred Spratley Jr., (daughter) Larita Spratley, (son) Fred Spratley III., (brothers) Calvin Lawrence, Vernell Lawrence, Jessie Lawrence and Marvin Lawrence, (sister) Yvonne Lawrence and a host of nieces, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
