Erma Lee Madison Bell daughter of the late George Louise Madison, Sr. and the late Caroline Sarah Madison, was born on September 4, 1929 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. At her birth, Erma was the fifth child of this union joining her three sisters from her mother's first marriage. She departed this life on Friday, June 16, 2023 after a brief illness. Erma, age 93, was the last of her siblings to be called home to be with our Lord God. She graduated from German Township High School, McClellandtown, Pennsylvania, in 1947. Erma met and married the late Charles Bell, sr. on June 15, 1952. From this union of 43 years the couple had eight children; Kathleen, Charles Jr., Phillip, Ralph, Grace, Clinton, Stevan and Michael. Erma was a full-time caregiver providing warmth and love to her children for years before entering the workforce. She was employed with Smithfield Packing Company where she worked in the Laundry Department until she retired. Erma spent several years traveling to visit her children and spending time with her grandchildren. In the last several years, Erma spent quality time living with Ralph, Phillip, Grace and Kathleen. She was never a person to sit still as Erma was active in a Senior Citizen group, Trinity Baptist Church Prime Time Singers and Bible study. In her loving memory, Erma leaves behind two daughters, Kahtleen Abrams (Kenneth) and Grace Quinones (Felix); six sons, Charles Bell, Jr. (Dekeia), Phillip Bell (Sheryl), Ralph Bell (Cyndi), Clinton Bell (Shakeetha), Stevan Bell (Olivia, deceased) and Michael Bell (Alison). As the family monarch, Erma, was blessed by our Savior to have 27 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
