Erika Denise Cole

August 3, 1967 — May 8, 2024

Erika Denise Cole, 56, of 2529 Queens Point Drive, Suffolk, Virginia peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 08, 2024 at her home. Mrs. Cole was born on August 03, 1967 to her parents, the late Ray Delano Parker Sr. and JoAnn Parker of Suffolk, Virginia.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 19 years, Mr. Jason Emanuel Cole Sr. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her cherished children, Dominique “Nique” JoAnn Norman, and Jason “Budd” Emmanuel Cole Jr.  Mrs. Cole is also survived by her sisters, Cordillia Spencer, Pam Wilson, Rhonda Poole, husband Harold; Latanya Hamlin, husband Clyde; Lakita Savage, Ashley Parker and brothers, Ray Parker Jr., wife Sherena, John Ruffin, London Mullen, Phoenix Long and Samuel Parker, wife Keisha. She also leaves behind a treasured host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Erika was a vibrant soul whose passion for creativity knew no bounds.  Born with an innate curiosity and a keen eye for design, she found solace and joy in the world of graphic design. Her ability to fully encapsulate the essence of the individual whom requested one of her products was truly awe-striking. She had the ability to fully encompass the vision each person desired and make it better than they imagined it could be. Further building on her creative abilities, Erika explored various outlets of expression. One of which was a daring podcast, “Let’s Get Into It with E & J”; creating a community to express various opinions and perspectives on numerous topics.  The kitchen was also an area where Erika’s creativity shined brightly. She had the ability to finesse any dish by adding her own flare, introducing a plethora of spices and unique combinations (i.e. lemon).

Erika had a personality that could light up any and every room. As a true “Life of the Party” she prided herself on always ensuring that everyone around had a smile as big as hers. To know Erika was to love her. She welcomed everybody with an open heart. Whether it was 15 years or 5 minutes, you were forever connected. You know the saying “If there is a will, there’s a way”? Well if you knew Erika, she would find a way. Her love knew no bounds and will live on forever.
