With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we celebrate the life of Erica Daughtrey, who was born on July 16, 1973, in Suffolk, Virginia, to Cynthia Deloris Daughtrey and Willie George Britt. Erica was raised by her uncle Donald Daughtrey whose guidance, love, and support helped shape the remarkable woman she became.
Erica was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness and compassion touched everyone she met. She had a heart of gold and was known for always putting others before herself. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Erica graduated from Highland High School in New Mexico. Erica was a devoted and lifelong Washington football fan a die-hard Redskins fan through every season. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially cooking delicious meals for her family, watching good movies, and spending precious time entertaining and making memories with her beloved grandchildren. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and the comforting presence that only she could provide.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her beloved children: Destiny Holmes (Joyce Holmes), Isis Boose, Briana Cloud, Quinnita Newsome, Nakiya Boose, Zaani Boose, Jaylen Daughtrey, Khalil Daughtrey, Kymani Daughtrey, and Jehiokaim Jordan.
Erica was a proud and devoted grandmother to Zy'Mariah Daughtrey, Za'Nariye Skinner, Raqwon Hayes Jr., Grace Hayes, Jor'den Hayes, Zymir Boose, and Sage Daughtrey, along with eight additional grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and happiness to her life.
She also leaves behind her cherished siblings: Willie Jackson of Suffolk, Virginia, Verlina Britt, and Khadijah Britt, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the countless memories Erica created and the unconditional love she shared. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family will continue to live on through those who knew and loved her.
