Emory Chambliss, 49, of 400 Oak Street, Suffolk, Va., has gone from labor to reward on April 20, 2025, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Survivors include Mother, Elnora B. Chambliss, sister, Christie L. Chambliss (Mr.V), brother, Lawrence Chambliss Jr. (wife Lotortia M. Chambliss, and sister, Nuressa I. Chambliss of Suffolk, Va.
Preceded in death by his father (Lawrence Chambliss Sr. Uncle Bernard Chambliss, and Aunt Deloris Hayes.
Survivors include four children, son Emory Chambliss of Suffolk, daughter, Taylor Chambliss, son, Isaiah E. Chambliss, son Lawrence Chambliss. One grandchild, Neveah Winborne. Uncles, Calvin Chambliss of Florida, Lee A. Chambliss (Mary) of Suffolk, Michael Chambliss of Suffolk, Va. Sebastian Yates. Aunts, Jacquelin Holmes of Suffolk, Va., Vivian Brown of Suffolk, Va., Yumeko Yates of Norfolk, Va. and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is a graduate of Nansemond River High School. He worked at Air-a-plane in Norfolk, Va., and he also worked at Newport News Shipyard in Newport News, Va. He loved to draw and was a redskin football fan.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, at Antioch U.C.C., 900 Hull Street, Suffolk, Virginia. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
