Emma Connie Blount, a cherished soul, was born on November 29, 1949, in Suffolk, Virginia. On Sunday, February 22, 2026, our Lord and Savior, in His infinite wisdom, lovingly gathered another flower from His garden and called our dear Connie home. She was a beloved daughter of the late Gordon R. Blount and Lola M. Blount, and she is reunited in heaven with her brother, Wallace L. Manley, and her sister, Cynthia E. Blount.
Connie's journey through life was one marked by resilience and aspiration. A proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in 1968, she dedicated herself to various administrative roles throughout her career in Suffolk, Petersburg, and Richmond, Virginia. Her spirit of adventure led her to Connecticut, where she pursued her dreams, yet her heart ultimately drew her back to Suffolk before settling in Richmond, where she surrounded herself with the warmth of family and friends.
Her legacy continues through her beloved daughter, Isis N. Blount of Chesterfield, VA; her cherished granddaughter, Adara D. Dixon (Keith) of Gilbert, AZ; and her two great-grandchildren, Kai B. Dixon and Ava D. Dixon, also of Gilbert, AZ. Deeply missed by her two brothers, Alvin D. Blount (Mazie) of Petersburg, VA, and Richard C. Blount (Barbara) of Suffolk, VA, as well as her two sisters, Deborah B. Conway (Gordon) of Chesterfield, VA, and Sanjra D. Manley of Greensboro, NC. She leaves behind two loving nieces, Tiyia Hill of Richmond, VA, and Tameka Blount-Brown of Toano, VA; two nephews, Karl Bowen of Germany and Klamente’ Baker of Chesapeake, VA; and a devoted partner, Tyrone Spencer of Buckingham County, VA. Her vibrant spirit will be fondly remembered by a wide circle of relatives and friends.
A public viewing will take place 2-5 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of Connie’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. She shall find her final resting place in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity, compassion and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
