Elton Louis Mabry, a devoted husband and loving father passed on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the age of 63 in Prince George, Virginia. Elton is survived by his wife of 43 years, Denise Mabry (Gatling); his children Yolonda Brown (Terance Brown) and LaToya Mabry; Grandchildren, George Allen, Avery Brown, Caleb Harris and Chlole Harris, Mother, Thelma Simpson, Sisters Darlene Simpson, Marion Ricks, Paquita Hunter, Shelia Griffin and Sheryl Wiggins, Brothers, Chris Simpson (Monet Simpson), Danny Lawrence, Darryl Mabrey (Tonya Robinson), and Donald Mabrey (Tamra Mabrey). He is predeceased by his Son, Elton Mabry, Jr. Mom, Sarah Lawrence, Dad H.G. Lawrence, Father, James Mabrey; Brothers, Ronald Mabrey and James Simpson. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and beloved friends. Elton was born on January 22, 1957. He served in the United States Army for 14 years and continued his medical career as a Registered nurse for over 30. He was an avid bowler and spent his time fishing and the company of his family. He believed in the importance of education and inspired others to always do their best. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held noon Tuesday, February 18 at the Balm Church, East Campus 525 E Washington St, Suffolk, VA 23434. He will be laid to rest in Albert G.
