Ellen Thomas

On March 27, 2020 softly and tenderly The Almighty God whispered in the ear of his daughter Ellen Frances Thomas that it was time for her to rest from her labor. Since an early adolescent Ellen opened her caring heart to others with her natural nurturing abilities. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she severed on the Usher Board, Pastors Aid Ministry as well as ensured that everyone’s needs were accomplished. She was a woman of God whom remained faithful and committed to church until her illness prevented her from regular attendance. Ellen was a native of Nansemond County (Suffolk) and the daughter of the late Willie & Mabelle Hill Thomas. Ellen was also preceded in death by four children Willie Thomas, Walter Thomas, as well as an additional Son & Daughter three sisters Queen Thomas, Mae Anna Crocker (Clarence), Vernice Williams Poulson (Charlie) one niece Peggy Croker Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory one son Marvin Thomas (Anne), three grandsons’ Walter Lamont Thomas, Antoine Damek Thomas- Godwin & Marvin Lamar Thomas, two great grandchildren Adrianna Thomas & Marlin Thomas. One sister Estelle Thomas Scott (Herbert), nieces Ethel Croker, Vanessa Crocker, Connie Scott, & Nikysha Scott-Hampton, nephews Clarence Crocker Jr. & Jason Scott as well as a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted grandchildren, friends and extended family members.
