Ellen Mae Saunders

Ellen Mae Saunders, 76, of Welcome Road, Portsmouth, Virginia transitioned Thursday, August 1, 2019 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Ilda F. Smith and Gilbert Boone. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,  Morris L. Saunders; daughter, Patricia Saunders;brothers, Joseph s. Boone, John G. Boone, Henry M. Boone, and Wesley Boone. She was a native of Gates County, North Carolina and she retired in 2005 from Burger King after 13 years of faithful and dedicated service.  She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Marvin L. Saunders (Stacy) and Morris Q. Saunders both of Portsmouth; brother, Bobby Boone of Gates County, NC; grandchildren, Corey Saunders (Amand) and Teneisha Saunders; three great grandchildren, Alexcia, Jeremiah,a nd Cherish(Cece) Saunders all of Portsmouth. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 20196 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hampton.
