Elizabeth "Puff" Crocker

Elizabeth “Puff” Crocker was born on March 13, 1948, in Wakefield, Virginia, to the late Henry Crocker and Taggie Crocker. She peacefully departed this life on June 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, determination, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Elizabeth received her education through the Sussex County School system. From an early age, she was connected to faith and community as a childhood member of First Baptist Church in Wakefield, Virginia. In 2010, she became a member of St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, where her faith continued to be a source of strength and guidance.

Throughout her life, Elizabeth worked with purpose and pride. Her work history included serving as a Telephone Operator in New York City, working at Brown & Williamson in Petersburg, Virginia, and holding various positions in Williamsburg, Virginia before finally retiring from Hilton Garden Inn in Suffolk, Virginia. Wherever she worked, she carried herself with dignity, intelligence, and determination.

Elizabeth was a woman of great strength and resilience. She was determined, self-reliant, smart, supportive, and unrelenting in making sure the best was provided for her three sons. Even in the face of life’s difficulties, she stood strong. She was always there to listen, always present when someone needed her, and always willing to support her family through every season of life.

Her legacy is deeply rooted in education, family, and perseverance. Elizabeth believed in wanting more and better for her children, and that belief showed in the way she never missed her children’s or grandchildren’s graduations. Her pride in their accomplishments was evident, and her presence at those special moments spoke louder than words. She inspired those around her not only by what she said, but by how she showed up — faithfully, lovingly, and consistently.

Elizabeth loved her family dearly. She especially enjoyed loving on her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, supporting family activities, playing bingo, and playing numbers. Her joy came from being connected to the people she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her loving companion Joseph Parker Jr., parents, Henry and Taggie Crocker of Wakefield; her brothers, William Henry Crocker (Bernice) of Bronx, New York and Alexander Crocker (Spencer) of Smithfield, Va; and her sister, Barbara Ann Crocker of Wakefield, Va. Nephew Harold Moore Jr. (Meg) and niece (Nicole Shears). Her daughter-in-law Tami Crocker of Richmond, Va.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brothers; Harold Moore Sr.(Gloria) of Woodbridge, Va and Charles Crocker (Willie Mae) of Youngsville, NC. Three sons: Travis Crocker of Richmond Va, Sean Crocker of Durham,NC and Joseph Crocker (Angela) of Villa Park, IL; her grandchildren, Xavier Crocker Richmond, Va, Giordan Crocker of Atlanta,Ga., Morgan Crocker of Greenville,NC, Sierra Crocker of Raleigh,NC, Cami Crocker of Durham,NC, Jory Crocker and Alaina Crocker of Villa Park, IL; and Her loving friend Cynthia Geronimo of Richmond, Va:her great-grandchild, Josiah Crocker of Richmond Va. She also leaves behind 5 Nieces: Arnette Crocker, and Coronnie Crocker of Bronx, New York, Mysohia Crocker-Nelson (Lyskoski) of Dinwiddie, VA and Sonja Shears of Smithfield, and Amara Brown of Youngsville, NC. Nephews: Brian Moore of Petersburg,Va and Jarvis Stringfield (Pam) of Waverly, Va. She also leaves a host of great-nieces and nephews, family members, friends, church family, and loved ones who will forever remember her strength, her love, her presence, and her legacy.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Wakefield, Virginia. The family of Elizabeth “Puff” Crocker extends heartfelt thanks for every prayer, call, visit, act of kindness, and expression of love shown during this time.
