ElGertrude P. Taylor

ElGertrude P. Taylor, 81, of Centerbrooke Lane, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Friday, February 22, 2019 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Kate Powell and Harry D. Powell. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Willie Taylor, daughter, Cathy Malone, sisters, Helen Pepper, Jessie Cross, and Audrey Betts; brother, James Powell. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the church. She leaves to cherish her memories three, daughters, Penny Kennedy of Woodbury, MN, Diane Moore of Woodbridge, VA, and Jennette Beale of Rehoboth Beach, DE; son, Johnnie Malone of Huntsville, AL; three sisters, Annabelle Gary of Drewryville, VA, Carrie Stith of Emporia, VA, and Eunice Joyner, Drewryville, VA; two brothers, Harry D. Powell, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA and Richard Powell of Drewryville, VA; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; adopted daughter, Mary Boone Breeden of Como, NC; honored sisters, Mary Marshall and Shirley Boone. A celebration of life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Bethlehem Christian Church. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Plain Baptist Church Cemetery, Drewryville, VA 23844.  Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
