Edwin "Bubba" Quinshaw Milteer, 70, of Highfield Road, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Monday, December 2, 2024 at McGuire VA Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Bubba was the second born of five children to the late Elmer and Willie Beatrice Rose-Milteer. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Elaine Johnson and niece, Shawanda Milteer.
Bubba was a graduate of Hayden High School and later joined the U.S. Army in 1971. In 2011 he married the love of his life Diane Spratley-Milteer and resided in Suffolk, VA. He was a faithful and dedicated employee of Huntington Ingalls in Newport News, VA until his retirement in 2018.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Diane Spratley-Milteer; two sons, Dishaun Hart (Debbie) of San Antonio, TX and Paul Ralph (Tina) of Suffolk, VA; two daughters, Suprina Crocker (Thomas) of Suffolk, VA and Daphne Lyons of Corapeake, N.C; nine grandchildren, Estrella Hart, Clarence Hart, Sabrea Ralph, Jasmine Figgs, Deja Ralph, Evan Meggison-Ralph, Marquis Nowell, Jr., Maniya Smith and Antonio Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Bryant (Tyrone) of Sedley, VA and Beatrice Ash (Clarence Jr.) of Suffolk, VA; one brother, Elmer Milteer, Jr. (Towanda) of Maryland; aunt, Carolyn Rose-Richardson; uncle, William H. Rose; special niece, Ebony Ash-Watford of Suffolk, Virginia; special nephew, Clarence W. Ash III who he holds dearly to his heart; two special friends, Alvin T. Wiggins (Road Dog) and Chip Buck of Franklin, VA.; a host of nieces, nephews other friends and family.
A viewing will be held 12-6 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2024 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held noon, Monday, December 9, 2024 at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries. He will be laid to rest in Southview Cemetery, Franklin, Virginia. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
