Eddie Lee Davis Sr., 87, of 928 Palmer Street Portsmouth, VA transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday October 7, 2021. He was born November 11, 1933 in Edgecombe County, NC to the late Vinson Dickens and Henrietta Carr Davis. He was preceded in death by Eunice Almeda Smith Davis, his loving wife of 54 years; Bennie Davis Sr., his stepfather; Mary Lee, Ruby Lee, and Susie Elizabeth, his sisters and Robert and William Sylvester, his brothers. Eddie Lee or “Loc Jaw”, as he was affectionately called, was educated in NC and VA public schools. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding then later worked at Cedar Point Country Club. He was a faithful and long-time member of East End Baptist Church, its Sunday School and Usher Board. He was also a Mason and member of Elk Lodge 206. To cherish his memory and continue his legacy, Eddie Lee will be lovingly remembered and honoured by his four daughters: Nadine Boone of Revere Beach, MA; Henritta Senise Karim (Siraaj) of Portsmouth, VA; Iris Moore and Cheryl Williams (J.T.) both of Suffolk, VA; one son Eddie Lee Davis Jr. of Smithfield, VA; three sisters: Lillie Mae Mundy of Easton, MD; Lillian Coles of Roanoke, VA; Willie Davis of Suffolk, VA; one brother Bennie Davis Jr. of Baltimore, MD; one sister-in-law Laura Jane Williams of Suffolk, VA; five grandchildren: Katina Adams and Brandon Davis both of Suffolk, VA; Antione Davis (Lavitica) of Portsmouth, VA; Ronnie Latray Harris Sr. (Tacara) of Norfolk, VA; Bohmad Davis of Chesapeake, VA; seven great-grandchildren: ZaKira, Tashayla and Ronnie Harris Jr.; Pierce Adams; Heavenli Brooks-Dingle; Nevaeh and Anjul Davis; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family sincerely thanks the administration and staff at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, and Portside Health & Rehab Center for all their care and support over the past two months. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM on Friday October 15, 2021 at East End Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk, VA.
