Dr. Bernard Elbert Glover, 90, of Suffolk, Virginia passed away peacefully Saturday, October 7, 2023. He was born April 27, 1933 in the Chuckatuck area of Sufolk, Virginia to the late Vinnie and Albert C. Glover. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Dr. Glover is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita Cross Glover. To this union two children were born, Cheryl Glover Williams (Clifton), Kevin B. Glover (Maisha), five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Geneva Purvis and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of East End Baptist Church where he served as Trustee. Dr. Glover was an Obici Hospital Board member, The Suffolk School Board, a member of the John L. McGriff Dental Society, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and the United States Army.
A joy of his life was his dental practice, serving Suffolk for 40 years. His quiet reserve and sense of humor was always noted as a part of his lifestyle.
Dr. Glover attended East Suffolk High School, Morgan State College Baltimore, Maryland and Maharry Medical College, Nashville, Tennessee.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
