Dorothy (affectionately nick-named Cookie) was a native of Sunbury, N.C. and the daughter of the late Clifton Norman and Georgia Marie Riddick.

Cookie was known for her innocent and loving spirit. She was equally known for her "one of a kind comical personality' and her sassy-feisty' ways. Her laughter would make you laugh with her and the way she saw the world showed the wonderment and joy of a child.

Cookie loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church. During church service she could be seen clapping and raising her hands to honor and praise the Lord. She routinely attended New Jerusalem Apostolic Church under the leadership of Pastor Bishop Leslie Harper. Cookie also loved shopping at Walmart, dressing up, old R&B music, old TV shows, traveling, McDonalds, Sprite sodas, watermelon, and potato chips.

She was preceded in death by sisters: Edith O. Long, Clarine Norman, Mary L. Norman and Mary E. Johnson, Marie A. Norman and brothers: Maskell Riddick, Clifton Norman, Jr., and Jerry Norman.

She leaves to cherish her memory and also celebrate her life: Her devoted niece caregiver, Tiffany L. Norman-Pope (Floyd), her sisters Vera V. Norman, Peggy A. Norman and one brother, Willie L. Norman, all of Suffolk, Virginia. A host of nieces, great nieces, great-great- nieces, nephews, great nephews, great-great nephews, cousins, her church family, medical team, and friends.
