Dorothy Mae Everett

Our beloved aunt Dorothy Mae Jerman Everett was born in Suffolk, Virginia to the late Robert Lee Jerman and Nannie Hunter Jerman on July 16, 1928. She was preceded in death by her brother James Alexander Hunter, Sr. She was called home to be with our Lord on August 15, 2020. She was educated in the Suffolk Public School system. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years here in Suffolk until she retired. Although she did not have any children, she was a mother figure and friend to many. Dorothy enjoyed many activities such as crossword puzzles, dominoes, knitting and fellowship. She joined First Baptist Church Mahan at an early age and remained a faithful member until her death. She leaves to cherish her memory three nieces, Susie Hunter Howell of Norfolk, Va; Bertha Hunter Moss of Hampton, VA and Varia Hunter McCloud of Suffolk, VA; 5 great nieces, 5 great nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends. The family of Dorothy M. Everett wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for the love displayed and the many deeds of kindess shown during her time of illness and during our time of bereavement. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Southview Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Blount will deliver the message of comfort.
