Dianne Christine Charles-Meloney

December 5, 1953 — May 8, 2023

Dianne Christine Noel was born on December 5th, 1953 in Trinidad, West Indies. She was the first child of father Carlton Creed and mother, Geraldine Noel. Her brothers are Wayne and Eric. Her childhood was full of adventure, she was thrilled to have little brothers and thought she was one of the boys! In school, she was always ready to fight for and protect them-and sometimes she did what she had to do! She was fiery! Nurturing love and protection of her family and friends is what Dianne became known for. Dianne migrated to the United States, New York City in 1981. She worked in many avenues of Healthcare and studied at Mid Manhattan LPN School where she graduated in 2001. She then became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2004 and worked as a nurse in North Central Bronx Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The other nurses were amazed at how she was able to always keep the babies in her care happy and sleeping peacefully. Dianne married Clayton Charles on November 10, 1979. They had four beautiful children: Garnet, Gwynet, Steinstra, and Christian. Her husband fell asleep in death in 2001. She later found love again and married her Edward “Rocky” Meloney on March 3, 2017. She started studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses in the 70’s and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1980. Dianne was a joyful part of Wakefield Congregation and later Eastchester Congregation in The Bronx, NY. She later served in the Bronx River Jamaican Creole Congregation. Dianne and her husband Rocky moved to Virginia where she expanded her spiritual family in the South Newport News Congregation. Despite her many health limitations, she was very active in the ministry, starting at 8am via Zoom, most times with her service partner Mr. Turtle. Dianne spent many zealous hours teaching people about Jehovah God and the promises in his Word, The Bible. This was her greatest joy next to her family and friends. Dianne is survived by her Husband: Edward “Rocky”, Mother: Geraldine; Daughters: Gwynet and Steinstra; Sons: Garnet and Christian (deceased); Grandchildren: Raquisha, Kernian, Paige, Justice, Stacia and Evan; Great-grandbabies: Nielani, D’Mitri and Jace; Sons-in-law: Darryl and Jesse; Granddaughter-in-law: Lorena; Grandson-in-law: Sheldon; Brothers: Wayne and Eric; Sisters-in-law: Angela and Esther; Nieces and Nephews: Durant, Timothy, Erica, Marcus, Stephen, Kammy-Ann, Shawn and Rachel; Step children Imri, Bubbles, Rico, Jade (deceased) and Jessie; Sister in Laws: Iona, Clair; Brother in Law: Felix; and a myriad of loving friends she considered family. Dianne was known for her love for Jehovah, the ministry and her congregation, love and support for her family and friends. Her smile, laugh, sense of humor, resilience, joyful endurance, and genuine love for all she came in contact with will be her legacy. “Jehovah got this” is what she would say to soothe our anxious hearts.
