A time to be Born - Diane Loretta Beamon was born on February 24, 1950 in Suffolk, Va. to the late James Beamon and Getrude Zackery Beamon. A Time to Grow - She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Class of 1968. A Time to Work - She served as an organist for several churches: New Middle Swamp Baptist Church of Corapeake, NC. Mt. Ararat United Christian Church of Suffolk, VA. Gethsemane Baptist Church of Suffolk, VA. St. Timothy Baptist Church of Suffolk, VA. She worked for the Norfolk Naval Base for 23 years before transferring to Warner Robins Air Force Base. She worked there for 7 years before retiring in 2016. A Time to Serve - At a young age she joined New Middle Swamp Baptist Church where she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and savior and was baptized in the faith. She was most recently a member of Holy Light Tabernacle of Smyrna, GA. She worked with The Beautiful Pearls ( P- Phenomenal, E-Elegant, A-Accountable, R-Rare, L-Ladies, S-Surviving) a non-profit organization encouraging young women to serve within their communities. She also served on the Pastor’s Care Committee and the board of missionaries. She was a Mother of the Church and served as a minister. A Time to Die - Diane entered into eternal rest on October 13, 2020. A Time to Remember - She was preceded in death by her loving mother Gertrude Zackery Beamon, her father James Beamon; three brothers, Milton Zackery, Alton Beamon and James Beamon Jr. Her precious memory shall be cherished in all the lives she touched. She is survived by her two sons Edrian Beamon and Jonathan Beamon a daughter in law Elizabeth Scott Beamon. Siblings; Brother Carlton Zackery and sister Silvia Hicks. Best friends Micheal and Barbara Hope, Tess MacLaurin, Brenda Watson among others, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends. A viewing will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held noon, Friday, October 23, 2020 at Zion Community Church-Port Norfolk. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
