Detra Renee Brown

Detra Renee Brown (Dee) was born December 2, 1978 in Suffolk, VA to John Lerory Knight and Beverly Brown Holloman. Our dearly loved daughter, aunt, cousin and friend passed away at the age of 42 and will be forever missed. Detra worked at Care For You Home Health Care for seven plus years of dedicated and loyal services as a caretaker. Detra loved her family and enjoyed having fun with her family and friends. She loved to laugh and was the life of every event she attended. Detra loved helping people and enjoyed her life to the fullest. She will forever be missed and always in our hearts. Detra leaves to cherish her memory her special aunt, Vera Blakeney; father, John L. Knight; mother, Beverly Brown Holloman of Smithfield, VA; sister, Robin Gholston, Hampton, VA, brother, Marquis Brown, Smithfield, VA; three special aunts, Beulah Bailey, Archie Lyons, Carrie Gerena; two special cousins, Bonnie Griffin and Donna Scott "who loved Dee like a daughter"; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2021 at Union Baptist Missionary Church, 5414 Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk, VA.
