Odessa Carroll

  Odessa Carroll 81, of the 1900 block of Myrick Ave Suffolk, Va transitioned into eternal slumber on October 3, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Pearline Barrett and Elder Jonas Barrett Sr. She was a native of Gates County, NC, and as a child relocated with her parents and 4 siblings to Suffolk, VA where she built her life and family, and later retired as a worker from the Planters Peanut Company. She leaves three generations, four daughters Rosa Joyner, Pearline Carroll, Barbara Young (George), Alma Robison (Olimas Jr.); 9 Grandchildren; 11 Great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. A homegoing service celebrating her life and legacy will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Greater Sweet Beulah Pentecostal Church where she was a lifetime member, Deaconess, and Church Mother. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
