Deloris B. Hayes

Deloris B. Hayes, 71, of Courthouse Highway, Windsor, Virginia transitioned Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Consulate Healthcare of Windsor. She was the daughter of the late Odell Whitfield and James Bennett. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Leon Hayes; two daughters, Patrice Bennett and Pamela Bennett; son, Byron Bennett. She attended East Suffolk High School and retired from Smithfield Packing in Smithfield, Virginia. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Vanessa Newsome and Felicia Artis both of Suffolk; three sons, Travis Hayes of Georgia, Leon Hayes and Henry Bennett both of Suffolk, Va; two sisters, Shirley Adkins of Emporia and Elnora Chambliss of Suffolk; two brothers, Paul Whitfield and Robert Whitfield both of Philadelphia, PA; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Covington; brother-in-law, Herman Hayes; nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
