Delores D. Parker, a native of Suffolk, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at her residence in Richmond, Virginia. She was born on October 9, 1930 in Suffolk, Virginia to the late David and Inez Gray DeLoatch. Delores graduated from East Suffolk High School in 1949 and briefly attended Elizabeth City State College. Delores received her Practical Nursing diploma from Medical College of Virginia (now VCU Health System), where she retired after 30 years of service. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Thurman L. Parker, daughter, Sharon P. Parker and siblings, David Wadell Sr., Edward, Quincy, Arminta, and Grace; niece, Sandra J. DeLoatch, PhD. and nephews, David DeLoatch, Jr. and Johnny DeLoatch, Sr. Delores is survived by daughters Valerie and Karon Parker; grandson, Marcus J. Parker; sister, Vasti DeLoatch, PhD. (all of Richmond), sister-in-law Virginia Parker (Suffolk, VA); brother-in-law, Lloyd Parker, Sr., (Bowie, MD), and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Fourth Baptist Church, 2800 P Street, Richmond, VA 23223.  Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2018 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in mama's memory to either Fourth Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association Greater Richmond Chapter, 4600 Cox Road, #130, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
