Delois Dailey, the daughter of the late Jasper C. & Clara E. Jones, was born on November 30, 1949, in Nansemond County, Virginia. She was the middle of nine children and educated through the Suffolk Public School System. Though having no children of her own, she was a mother to many, especially her nephews & nieces.Her God-given humble, loving & nurturing spirit, coupled with her passion to be of service to others, lead her into the life of a dedicated child-care giver.
Delois could often be found reading her bible or doing Bible Study with her niece Coby & great nephew CJ.She was known for her kindness and her loyalty to her family and friends. As the old saying goes "To know her was to love her."
On September 23, 2025, at the Norfolk Sentara Heart Center, God called our dear sister, aunt, friend and confidant, from labor to reward.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jasper C. Dailey, three sisters : Bessie L. Dailey, Stella M. Stagg and Brenda D. Deloatch; two brothers-in-law: Everett Stagg & Jasper R. Kee, Sr.
Delois leaves to cherish her memory three sisters: Shirley A. Kee, Janice Wilson and Clara A. Pittman; one brother: Samuel L. Dailey; two honarary brothers: Michael Lee Harrell and Barron Dwight Gwaltney; two aunts: Doretha Holland & Janice Parker; one brother-n-law: Odell Deloatch and honarary sister Laverne Gray.
Also to cherish her memory are her nieces: Deatrice Johnson, Willetha Winborne(James), Tresha Rountree(Corey), Benita Wilson, Gwenita Curtis, Veronica Bolden, Patrice Williams, O'tavia Copeland(Daryl), Akita Deloatch and Stacey Manley. Her nephews: Jasper R. Kee, Jr, Trevell Wilson(Lisa), Antony Jones, Marlon Dailey, Demond Pittman, and a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Special thanks to Pastor Anthony Copeland and his Assistant Pastor Alan Ray Hunt and the entire Oak Grove Baptist Church, and to the staff at Obici Sentara and Norfolk Sentara Heart Center.
