Delando G. "King Duck" Wellons

Delando G. Wellons, 41, of Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was the son of the late Glenda Knight. Delando loved spending time with his fiancée, kids, and family. He also loved football, his favorite team was the San Francisco 49ers. He was their Number 1 fan. Delando enjoyed listening to loud music, playing cards, chilling with his homeboys, his ducks, and lil ducks. He was loved by many and he showed love to may people. He was very generous and had a caring aheart. If he ever called you his duck, then you held a special place in his heart. Delando is survived by his fiancée, Shemekia Bryant; his father, William Goodman; his grandmother, Gracie Wellons; his mother-in-law, Theresa Goodman; five sons, Vonta, Andru, Jermaine, Christopher, and Lyntrell; three daughters, Janay, Jatia, and Dashia; five brothers, Arthur Wellons, Nicholas Wellons, Demond Ricks (Felicia), Diago Holland ( Tawana), and Ernest Brown; four sisters, Tierra Ricks, Shayvon Everett, Sylvia Ricks, and Tiffonia Smith; four aunts, Paulette, Pauline Walker (Andrew), Florine Goodman, and Florence Stoggs (Felix); one uncle, Paul Goodman; and a special lil duck, Ky'Liyah Everett (Tinkma); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A public viewing will be held 12 noon to 5pm, Friday, January 14, 2022 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 2:00pm at Balm Church East Campus, 523 East Washington St, Suffolk, VA. Evangelist Sheranda Y. Outlaw will deliver the message of comfort.
