Deetra Chanee Foreman

October 14, 1975 — April 14, 2021

In the early morning hours of April 14, 2021, God dispatched his angels to usher his child home. Deetra Chanee Foreman left with them to go to her heavenly home. Deetra was the precious daughter of Vivian Maurice Staples and the late Bernard Staples. She was born October 14, 1975 in Norfolk, Virginia. Much of her childhood was spent in the Norview Community where she attended grade school and attained many childhood friends. Deetra's continuing educated included receiving a Medical Assistant Certificate from Keys Business College. At the time of her passing, she was enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at Keys Business College. Deetra loved God and life. She enjoyed reading and playing video games. She would purchase a game and stay up all night until she mastered it. Deetra also found enjoyment in shopping, dancing, and going to clubs with her sister, Desiree and her cousin Charmaine. But of all the things she loved, she found most delight in family and friends. Spending moments with Jalen, Niaje and Hydrea, her beautiful children, Bernard and Desiree her siblings and Mike her sweetheart gave her life meaning. Family was everything to her. Deetra was giving and forgiving and could see the good in everyone. Deetra was preceded in death by her father Bernard Staples, her maternal grandparents, Lindley and Vivian Foreman and her uncle Michael Foreman. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving mother, Vivian Maurice Staples; son, Jalen Mizell; two daughters, Najie Staples and Hydrea Felton; brother, Bernard Staples; two sisters, Desiree' Staples and Vanessa Tucker; life partner, Mike Mitchell; two uncles, Lindley Foreman, Jr and Billy Staples; two aunts, Bonnie Foreman and Clara Johnson and numerous cousins and friends.
