On Thursday morning, February 26, 2026 according to the divine will of God, an angel was dispatched to Deep Creek Rehabilitation Home and claimed the soul of Deacon Willie J. Wilson for the Lord. Willie was born on March 15, 1942 in Hobbsville, North Carolina. He is the son of the late Janet Edward and was raised by his god parents, the late Mr. Katon and Coral Wilson. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janice Edward; his grandfather, Easent Edward, his uncles, Raymond Edward, Tee Edward, Cliff Edward, his sons; Reginald D Wilson and Daniel C. Wilson.
Wille attended school in Hobbsville, North Carolina; and for a number of years, he was employed by North America Premier Refrigeration Incorporated as a truck driver. He continued in his career as a truck driver with Mitchell & Son Hauling LLC. and after a few years, he retired for a life of leisure and purposeful living. Willie joined Saint Paul Branch Baptist Church and became a deacon under the pastorship of Reverend Algernon Lassiter. In 2009, he became a member of Higher Dimensions Family Outreach Center under the leadership of Apostle Dr Mavis L. Goodman. Deacon Willlie was a faithful member at Higher Dimension Family Outreach Center until his health failed in recent years. He was an avid student of the bible and loved attending Sunday School. His presence will surely be missed from our assembly.
He leaves to mourn his memory, his sons James R. Wilson, Willie J. Wilson, Jr and Santonyo Wilson; his Aunt Marie Edwards and Margaret Edwards; ten grandchildren, their grandmother Celestine Wilkins, great grands and a host nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home.He will be laid to rest in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. Professional services with dignity, compassion and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
