Deacon Linwood "Farmer Brown" Faulk, Sr., affectionately known throughout the community by many nicknames including "London Bridge", Ninety-Nine," and most lovingly "Monkey Wrench," entered eternal rest on May 12, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on August 16, 1937, in Suffolk, Virginia, to the late Kinwood and Essie Faulk.
Deacon Faulk was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandparent and great-grandfather, faithful servant of God and a pillar of strength within the Buckhorn community. For 65 years, he shared a loving and enduring marriage with the love of his life, Merline Faulk. Their union was blessed with three children, including one child who preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his son, Linwood Faulk, Jr. (Kwanbena Faulk), and his daughter, Marilyn Ferguson (Charles Ferguson, Sr.), all of Suffolk, Virginia.
He also leaves behind a loving legacy through his grandchildren: Kimberly, Erica, Kyiesha, Taliyah, and Charles "CJ", and his treasured great-grandchildren: Claire, Brooklynn, Xavier, Lana, Omar, Giomar, Caliana, and Ariana, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who loved him deeply.
A faithful and dedicated member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Deacon Faulk served tirelessly in many capacities throughout the church and remained a devoted Deacon until his heavenly rest. His faith, wisdom, and servant's heart touched countless lives.
Known throughout the Buckhorn community for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need, Deacon Faulk never met a stranger. The nickname "Monkey Wrench," lovingly given to him by Core Langston, reflected his remarkable ability to fix almost anything within his hands and his heart. Whether working the land as an avid farmer or enjoying the outdoors through hunting, he found you in simple pleasures and in caring for those around him.
Decon Linwood Faulk's life was one of love hard work, faith, and service. His lifelong motto, "your word is your bond" echoes in many hearts. His presence was a blessing, his laughter unforgettable, and his legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Well done, thy good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23
