Daisy R. Chapman

Daisy R. Chapman, 95, of South 6th Street, Suffolk, VA transitioned Thursday, November 29, 2018 at her residence. She was the daguther of the late Dora Lee Reid and Henry Reid. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde W. Chapman, her daughter, Doris N. Chapman, son, Clyde W. Chapman, Jr., four sisters, Helen Virginia Nichols, Essie Mae law, Annie Reid, and Louella Reid; two brothers, Henry Clay Reid and James Reid.Daisy was a Peanut Candy Specialist at Planters Peanuts until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mark Deliverance Center and loved to help within her community raising at-risk children, providing meals, and providing a safe place to stay. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Dorothy M. Chapman and Betty J. Gilchrist both of Suffolk; son, James O. Chapman of Suffolk; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018, at St. Mark Deliverance Center, Portsmouth.
