On November 4, 2020, Curtis Robert Milteer, Jr. entered eternal rest. He was born on February 26, 1954 to the (Honorable) Curtis and Sarah Milteer, Sr. He attended John F. Kennedy High School. Later he went on to serve in the United States Army between the years of 1970 and 1975. After the army, he worked as a boiling technician at various shipyards for over thirty years. He retired from Marine Hydraulics International in 2016. Curtis attended both St. Mark's Episcopal Church and True Gospel Ministries in Suffolk, VA. Curtis was pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents Ponnie and Sallie Milteer; maternal grandparents, Turner and China Walker; and son Jervonte T. Barnes. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Carmen Valencia Milteer. Sons, Curtis Marcus Johnson (Latoya) of New York, Curtis Barnes of Portsmouth, VA, Na'Kia Norfleet (Shaleta) of Suffolk, VA, Jaleel Nelson(Brittany) of Chesapeake, VA. Daughters; Shiquita Harris (Alton) of Chesapeake, VA, and Sintia Holliman of Suffolk, VA. Brothers; Anthony Milteer (Barbara) of Hampton, VA and Albert Milteer of Suffolk, VA. One sister; Elizabeth Whitfield of Suffolk, VA, and sister-in-law Debra Sullivan (Henry) of Atlanta, GA. 13 grandchildren and a host of aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, family, and friends. There will be a memorial service held noon, Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
