Clyde Oliver Turner, Jr., age 75, of Kilby Avenue, Suffolk, VA, peacefully transitioned at his residence on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Born on August 5, 1950, he was the cherished son of the late Clyde Oliver Turner, Sr., and Mrs. Virginia Douglas Turner. Clyde is preceded in death by his brothers, James Wilbur Turner, Milton Lee Turner, and Gregory L. Turner.
Clyde led a life rich in love and faith. He was a devoted servant of the Lord and a faithful member of Balm Church, where he served with unwavering compassion and commitment. His deep love for God and the church family was evident in every aspect of his life. Family and friends held a special place in his heart, and he cherished spending quality time with them, often enjoying peaceful fishing trips. Clyde’s vibrant spirit and kindness will continue to resonate through the lives of those he touched.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Turner, who was his partner and source of joy; his stepson, Michael Lamont Boone (Lisa); his two daughters, Avonda M. Drew and Latoya Monique Chapman; his brother, Donald Earl Turner; as well as several uncles, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will remember him fondly.
A public viewing will be held from 2-5 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of his life will take place at 12 Noon on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Balm Church East Campus. Mr. Turner will be laid to rest at Balm Church South Campus.
