Clyde Wilson Lewter Jr., of Suffolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, at the age of 71. He was born on September 17, 1954, in Nansemond County, Virginia, to the late Clyde and Mary Magdalene.
Clyde attended John F. Kennedy High School in Suffolk, Virginia, and later received his high school diploma from Kaiserslautern High School in Germany.
In 1973, he married his childhood sweetheart, Lessie. Their 52-year marriage reflected a journey of enduring commitment, strengthened by prayer, love, and a shared history that carried them through. Through life’s highs and lows, their bond remained steadfast.

While he faced personal struggles along the way, those who knew him recognized the strides he made to reconcile relationships and the growth he demonstrated over the years.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Lessie; his sons, Keith (Shaneka), Andre (Tynisha), Zann (Jacinta), and Lorenzo; and his daughters, Sheketa and Dianna. He was a proud grandfather to Izayah Lewter, Adriana (Ohnjai) Kelly, Azhanya Lewter, Yolonda Lewter, Destiny Lewter, Zykira Gatling, Zann Lewter, Andre Lewter II, Leilani Lewter-Lundy, Paris Lewter-Lundy, Dakota Lewter-Lundy, Emmanuel Lewter-Lundy, and Aliyah Lewter, and a loving great-grandfather to Kaisten Barnes and Kingston Barnes.
