Clifton Gerald Trotman

Gerald Clifton Trotman, the beloved son of Geraldine Trotman Godwin and the late Clifton Trotman, Jr. He slipped away into his eternal home and rest or December 18, 2023. Gerald was born on July 27, 1971 in Franklin Virginia.

He attended Franklin high school. Gerald worked for 30 years as a janitor at Courtland health care. After a long battle with cancer, he was tired, but yet he learned how to trust God thru it all. His character spoke for him. To his family and friends, I believe he would say, “I have lived a good life, I have fought a good fight and I’ve kept the faith”.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clifton Trotman, Jr, and his brother, Michael Troutman.

 Gerald leaves to treasure his memory to his wife Janet, his son, Dashaun Trotman, both of Franklin, VA. Also to his mother, Geraldine Goodwin, of Suffolk Virginia, two sisters, Janet Blow of Franklin, VA and Felicia Warren Suffolk Virginia and one brother, Clifton Trotman of Philadelphia, PA. One brother in law, Stanley Blow, grand children, nieces, nephews, and all the family and friends that knew him. He will be truly missed.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. at Suffolk Bible Baptist Church, 510 Pinner Street, Suffolk Virginia 23434. He will be laid to rest at Southview Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
