Clifton Douglas Jones, Jr (Top Cat)., 57, of Newport News, Virginia was born in Suffolk, VA on October 21, 1962, son of Clifton D. Jones, Sr. and Shirley Goodman Jones of Suffolk, VA. Clifton departed this life on March 5, 2020. He joined Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA at an early age.Clifton attended John F. Kennedy High School, Suffolk and joined the U.S. Army and completed his high schooling in Washington State. He also attended Saint Leo University he was self-employed. Clifton leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Clifton D. Jones, Sr. and Shirley Goodman Jones; son, Chad Garland Jones; sister, Karla S. Jones of Fairfax, VA; godsister, Janice Parker Jones (Clayton) of Suffolk, VA; brothers, Terrance Jones (Sharon), Gatesville, N.C, Darryl S. Jones (Deanna) of Fayetteville,N.C, Karl T. Jones (Dawn) of Chesapeake, VA; special nieces, Sherika Jones and Lashonda Jones of Suffolk, VA; great niece, Cassidy Jones of Richmond, VA; nephews, Titus Jones of Richmond, VA, Deshawn Jones of Gatesville, N.C and Dezmond Jones of Fayeteville, N.C; two stepdaughters, Andre Strong Johnson (Jordan) of Peru, Indiana, Brianna Strong of Newport News, VA; stepson, Johnathan R. Strong of Atlanta, GA; special longtime friend, Tonya Strong; four aunts, Deloise Knight of Suffolk, Mary Goodman of Emporia, Helen Brown of Portsmouth, Brenda Jones (Rallie) of Hampton; uncle, Vernon T. Goodman (Yvonne) of Hampton and a host of cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Saturday, March 14, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home.
