Missionary Claudia Goodman, 75, transitioned to her Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2019, surrounded by her family and friends. She was a native of New York. Missionary Claudia was a true woman of God. She was a faithful member of her church. She was a walking Bible. She taught her children and many others about God: how to pray, speak the Word, and have a relationship with God. She was loved by many. She leaves behind to celebrate her memory, her children: James “Jimmy” Moore, Janice O. Goodman, Yolanda G. Miller (Dwayne), Claudia M. Goodman and Jamar T. Goodman (Takeisha); two brothers: James Franklin (Katie), of Winston-Salem, N.C., Richard Moore (Monique), of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Lucille Gordon, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; six grandchildren: Kevin Richardson, Duane “Isaiah” Miller, Marcus Miller, Benaiah Goodman, Sydnie Goodman and Michaiah Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, at Union Baptist Missionary Church, 5414 Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk, VA 23435. The family will receive family and friends at the repast following the interment. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
