Chris Antonio Ricks, 51, of Los Angeles, California transitioned April 18, 2018. He was the son of Linda R. Hargrave. Chris was a graduate of Suffolk Public High School. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Linda R. Hargrave of Suffolk, VA; wife, Wangara Shakir-Ricks of Murrieta, CA; four sons, Christopher Archer of Newport News, VA, Travis Archer of Virginia Beach, VA, Christian Ricks and Corey Ricks of Murrieta, CA; two step daughters; sister, Chanda Hargrave Goldsbrough of Fayetteville, NC; two brothers, Brian Keith Ricks of Suffolk, VA and Dorian Jerel Hargrave or Richmond, VA; two grandchildren; aunt, Chinell Sanders of Suffolk, VA; uncle, Westley Ricks of Suffolk, VA; three great aunts, Edna Bivins, Marion Briggs and Frances Pittman all of Suffolk, VA; a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Robert Hobbs will deliver the message of comfort.
