Holland were blessed with their oldest son, Chester M. Holland Jr. Sunday Morning, April 2, 2023, our Lord and Savior escorted Chester Jr. Chester was educated in the Suffolk Public School System. After receiving his High School Diploma from John F. Kennedy High School. Chester attended Virginia State University, Petersburg, VA and graduated with a degree in technical education. Upon Chester began his teaching career in Suffolk Public Schools as well as joining the Army Reserve, and working for the State Highway Department. Chester was a lifelong member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, Suffolk, VA where he served faithfully as a member of the MBC Usher Ministry as well as serving in any compacity where he was needed. He was very knowledgeable on many subjects and loved sports, especially football and basketball. Chester was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49’s and the Lakers. He had impeccable taste and style for dressing. Chester was predeceased by his parents: Chester Holland Sr. & Elvira Holland and a sister, Hope McElwain. Cherished memories will be in the hearts of his Sons: Andrew (Drew) Bowman (Portsmouth, VA and Ronrico (Rico) Holland (Prince George, VA), Daughter: Khadijah (Dee Dee) Holland (Prince George, VA), Brother: Rev. Alexander Holland Sr. (Suffolk, VA), Sisters: Wanda L. H. Stirling (Catonsville, MD), Marshelle Y. Williams (Suffolk, VA), Oria D. Holland (Richmond, VA), Grandchildren: Jacobi Mekhi Williams, Mikaela Ariel Holland. Chester loved his family, with a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023 at Metropolitan Baptist Church. Mr. Holland will be laid to rest in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
