On September 26, 1968, Reverend Otis L. Grant, Sr. and Leading Lady Josephine T. Grant were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Cheryl C. Grant.
Cheryl was born here in the City of Suffolk. She was also educated in the Suffolk Public School System; having being an alumnus of John Yeates High School. Cheryl was a born again Christian who exercised who faith in God as a devout and faithful woman serving the Lord. Cheryl was employed by Burger King in Newport News, VA.
As we mourn the loss of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, we as extended family members and friends give God the praise for allowing Cheryl to be a blessing to our lives. She was always a listening ear and encouraged others along the way in this journey called life. Her favorite saying was "Just pray and let God work it out."
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Otis L. Grant, Sr. and Josephine T. Grant; brothers, Pastor Otis L. Grant, Jr. and Glen T. Grant; and sisters, Tyris M. Skinner and Sarah D. Lamberson.
Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory her husband; Jeffrey A. Hartwell of Newport News, VA; her son, Le'Andre C. Grant, Sr (Quana'shay Williams); two grandsons: Le'Andre C. Grant, Jr. and Le'vian C. Grant; her sisters, Sandra Blount of Kentucky and Crystal (Roy) of Suffolk, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. Interment will be private. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc
